APPLICATION OF VALUE STREAM MAPPING IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY: A CASE STUDY

Today, the automotive industry is becoming one of essential industries in a country due to high demand from customers. This increasing also causes companies manufacturing be exposed challenges with respect cost-effectiveness, lead time, and quality production systems. situation increases waste that occurs line which basically poor plant processes where excessive movement processing time occur. From previous research current method detect not effective most methods do fulfill same framework, conditions, objectives, level, or degree completion detecting line. In this paper, effort made non value added using VSM. VSM entails mapping process evaluating it for bottleneck by calculating value-added non-value-added time. The data was collected incoming warehouse until outgoing warehouse. taken during observed component as passes through machining,painting, assembly,final assemby final inspection processes. Based on analysis bottlenecks, solutions are suggested, future state map created. improved 67% reduce 74% based created map.
